oh and 1 last thing that's why I wanted testing is for help in his lower score subjects not to advance him a grade or make the good subjects harder the way I had it explained to me is if the IQ and others tests show he is gifted I can can help guide the teachers as to what I want to see done...and that what I want make ot even across the board

Thanks for taking the time to answer since I asked the question I was able to file a formal request for testing now for your issue I think I might can help...there is a Dr. Fincher (like the bird) just off Brainard works on referal and he created a computer program that will test children in all required areas by the state wih a focus on gifted with ADD and ADHA best part I was told is he goes by a 3 dayrule...if your child need ADD ADHD meds he says you will see a improvment in 3 days re-test and change med if needed... I told about him by a friend that has had 6 gifted and 1 or 2 I believe were gifted w/ ADD ADHA in the Hamilton County school system and this guy I was told loves a good fight and will rally to your side...my issues are K-3 my child had high grades etc but is showing a drop that sends a red flad of bordom to me and thats when I filanlly filed all paperwork that by law requires him to be tested with in 40 school days

I am sure your school has some kind of a program for your child. They have them for the gifted and the challenged kids but not for any caught in the middle like my child is. She is 2 or 3 years younger than alot of her class and she makes the honor roll most of the time but needs help in math which she cannot get because it is not available. So it is up to you to make it known that you want extra help for your child. Chattanooga favors the smart and not so smart but not the ones left in the middle but no child is left behind as they say! SO fight for your child and go over your principal if you have to!!!!!!!!!!!!!
