I'm not aware of any frequent posters on this board that live in Hyde Park. I don't know what the Y is like in that area. They are so variable. I would ask your new neighbors, and ask around at your son's new school. Are you affiliated with the U of C? There might be some program using the university's facilities.
I live in Evanston, and there are major kids swim programs at Northwestern University, Evanston high school, the YMCA and at the YWCA.
