We started our eldest at OHVA in 2005, but due to various circumstances we soon dropped out. However, from what I saw of the Kindergartener program, it is quite a high level education and if circumstances allow in the future, we could well return to the OHVA option. As well as an assigned teacher and f2f meetings there are a couple of Yahoo! Groups set up for OHVA parents to help and support each other.
Hi, my children use OHVA/k12, its a good program and they are recognized by the ODE, they do have Face to Face (F2F) socials all over Ohio and its a state wide school. Its been rated Excellent by ODE for the 2007-2008 school year and hopes to continue that goal next year.
I have not used any but there are over 30 e-schools or virtual schools in Ohio, though many are local specific. If you send me your email address through community messaging here I can send you the list of e-schools by email. I will say at least one has a local office with a lab in it at the Job Center and as you explore several, I suggest asking how many kids from this area participate and if they ever do group activities in the non-virtual world .
