Quite a few of the school districts in the Springs seem to have ongoing difficulties; however most of them are excellent. If you have a child in elementary school, the only school I would tell you to avoid would be Rockrimmon Elementary in school district 20. I speak of this from personal experience and three years of complete dissatisfaction. This school resents parental involvement, does not want any adverse media attention even to the detriment of the children and families; they will lie to protect their "image"; and has a principal that is the worst I ever encountered. However, and to be truthful, it appears that all other schools in this district are very good, especially Eagleview Middle School and Air Academy High School. We stayed in District 20 for these schools.
Hi, we are a military family relocating to the Springs. My son will turn 5 in June, but we will most likely hold him back and enroll him in a really good prekindergarten class. He is intellectually ready but not mature enough for kindergarten. I am not finding any good information on prekinderg. classes/ schools. Public or private. We will live in 80906 area. Also, does anyone know about the prekinderg. classes on Ft. Carson? Thanks for your help!
We lived in Colorado Springs about 10 years ago, and the BEST districts then were District 20 and District 49 - you are going to love Colorado! Everything is so open and beautiful - truly God's country! I'm envious!
