Is middle school scary for new kids?

rose0214
My son just started middle school. He's already gotten in trouble for not doing homework, and for being disruptive. I am very worried for him.

just ask him if any of his friends from elementary school are in any of his classes. Depending on the area you (SIZE) he probably has 1 or 2 tell him to hang with them. Tell him your more excited about it more then him and that so many more things (opportunities) exist like Band Choral some districts allow 6th graders to play sports cheer leading co-ed well that might scare him NOT. Tel him it is simple just get the stuff done they want and the few chores I want done then the rest is yours and I will always be here for you. done deal.

he has to adjust to the new setting. As parents we try to give a little room as they grow. But we also must be the ones to ask. How was your day at school? Do you have any homework today? When my kids was in middle school we asked to see the books , and we always look inside there book bags too. We stated let's clean out the book bag for today. I want to suggest, contact the teacher and ask how ofter homework is give and on what days. This way when you ask and they say know you have a reason to say, I spoke to the teacher and as I recall she/he stated homework was given. Good luck it does get better.
