Is anybody homeschooling their child with learning disabilities. I am asking again because My daughter has

rondal
just started 6th grade and has been crying 2 days already. She is very overwhelmed and says she can't make it.She is reading at a 2nd grade level but has trouble in all areas, writing, spelling, and math. She says she can't even remember which school supplies she is to take to each class. I have felt for a long time that she will not survive the public schools and am considering options. I am a single mom and have to work full time. I could never afford a private school and not sure if there even are any for kids with LD.I was considering homeschooling but the thought is scary is anyone else making this work for their child. Both my daughter and my stomachs are in knots. Thanks for any advice.

I do not have children with an LD but I do homeschool. A lot of people homeschool for just that reason though. I would take Healthy's advice and join the Learning and Attention Difficulties Group. I am sure a lot of people can answer your questions. There is a lot out there for homeschoolers. :)

I'm not sure if you looked at the answers to your question from earlier today....http://community.greatschools.net/q-and-a/241131/My-daughter-just-started-6th-grade-and-is-having-a-horriblr-timeShe-is-terrified-to-go-to-school-and-says-she

If you repost your question in the Learning and Attention Difficulties Group at community.greatschools.net/groups/11554, you will find several parents who homeschool their LD children, including members like CharlotteD. You could send her a private message if you wish.
