How old is your child/what grade? I do not live in Florida, but I know FCATs are a Florida state test. Most state tests attempt to ensure that students meet minimum curriculum standards, not Advanced standards. I would imagine your child was not placed into an advanced class unless they were already doing well, so while it is disappointing to hear that they have a poor teacher, I would think they are already meeting minimum grade level requirements.
Have you brought your concerns about the teacher to the school principal?
