Look into charter schools. They have different rules.

oh yes, I agree. it also sucks living in a nice neighboorhood, and the children pick on your child. Terrible Terrible, I also moved and now my children are happier

I am encountering the same problem. My kids were in a GREAT district and they knew i moved back home and they kicked my kids out because of not having a residential affadavit! My kids were in school only 2 days before one was assaulted and then the elementary school had a 1st grader bring a gun to school. I know you have to check to see if they are in the school of choice program in michigan it is a section 105c Not sure what your would be but google it for your state. Find out if they have school of choice and then ask to be put on a waiting list and get a nonresident application. They may deny you but at least you tried....Don't ever give up hope... I am considering letting my house go and move just because of this! It really stinks that even though the school supposedly have the same standards ,they in thruth don't and the sad part is it revolves around money... I guess money is more important than the safety of the kids or there education!

There has to be someone you can notify about this, within the school systems, and depending where you live, if you have to enforce this or know of someone (family member) to help out with school districts than try, I know it is hard. I know where I live in Jersey they are very strict with someone using addresses to benefit child in the school especially when they don't reside there, its hard but keep trying to get any resources you can, I will pray for you, honestly, I will.

I agree with Healthy11 - if you do have to keep your children in their current school....then become active in it.
I work fulltime and I am active in both of my kids schools (middle school and high school) so I know it can be done.
