Moving to Vermont,Fair Haven area;anyone suggest a good community with a great school?

My husbands job is moving us to Vermont. His work is in the Fair Haven area. I have never lived outside of Indiana. I have a 13yr old and a 10yr old. This transition is hard enough I don't want my kids to have to be in a horrible school just because we don't know the area. Maybe someone knows a website even? Anything!HELP!!!
