I would highly recommend www.mbmacademy.com/ in university city. I am currently a senior at ljhs and many of my classmates have done quite well from here. It might be kind of pricey for preschool however, seeing as how the price has gone up quite a bit since i went there.

I would recommend St. Paul's Lutheran Pre-school on Felspar in Pacific Beach.

I sent my son to St. Andrew's Episcopal Preschool (right across the street from the library on Thomas) in PB. For us it was a great fit, the tuition is reasonable and they've recently expanded.

I've heard good things about the Children's School in La Jolla, just read the reviews here and am looking to see if there are any alternatives in the area or if this is the best there is. So, I'm interested in hearing this answer as well.
