He's always excited about meeting his new teacher (s)and seeing if his friends are in his class each year.He usually ends up w/ one or more in his class each year. He's even more excited that they started this year for 1st time to switch classes. (at their Elem. school) And so now he has 3 teachers. ( he's in 4th grade).
My daughter just started back to school today. Since many parents try to get their kids' classroom assignments changed the school does not post the roster until 4 pm the Friday before start of school on Monday.
My daughter did NOT get the teacher she wanted (we, as parents got the teacher we wanted her to have), she got several friends in her class and the only negative thing she said was that she did not want to have X sitting next to her because he did not pay attention and focus on his work.
Today we walked into the classroom after saying hello to many friends and who was sitting next to her, name on the desk and staring her down - - - X.
She'll live, she'll learn and from the looks of the classroom the teacher tried to set each easily-distracted child in a pod with 3 children who were focused.
Friends, what else? They are anticipating the first football game and I even heard one of their friends exclaim, "What am I going to wear?" Excitement is in the air. I didn't hear any talk about what they want to learn, only who they might get as a teacher, which friends will be in their classes, and a sense of worry about their clothing for school and ballgames. One of mine sons is all about school supplies, while the other one just uses left overs from the previous year. Excitement is in the air.
My daughter is soooo excited for several reasons: We just moved to Dayton, Ohio from Cleveland, Ohio, and we didn't really know the area too well, and placed her in a school we weren't aware of, not our choice. We heard so much about an all girl school, and she wanted to go. We got a letter before school started to let us know, they have a seat for her. Very exciting. She loves school and meeting new friends!!!!!
My 6 year old daughter is going to 1st grade and she was excited about wearing her new school clothes (such a fashion diva), seeing her friends and meeting her new teacher.
My 4 year old son is attending Pre-K4 this year and he was excited because his sister was excited about about wearing new school clothes, seeing her friends and meeting her new teacher. They both had a great day today, I'm looking forward to hearing their after school stories everyday.
