Do you eat/drink after your kids/spouse?

Kali78
I will not eat or drink after my kids or husband unless there is no other option and I am desparate. My husband thinks I am ridiculous. What is your view?

I do, but my little boy always asks "are you sick?" which is a good thing.

I think it's personal choice whether you want to share or not. I remember my brother wouldn't take another bite if somebody would even touch his plate. Many years later, I saw him sharing a dessert with his wife! LOL. I p[ersonally don't mind as long as I know the person but truly I always feel that somebody's else's food is colder then my food in plate and I hate cold food! LOL

Too funny. I was raised by a mom just like you. She would NEVER eat any food if we had already partaken in it. Even my dad was similar, though not as dramatic about it.

However, all four of us kids would share with most folks (assuming no illnesses). I used to tease my mom that she kissed my dad on the lip, but then won't drink from a glass if he's taken a sip out of it!

One of my fondest memories of my mother (she's been gone for over 10 years now) was when I saw her SHARING an ICE CREAM CONE (of all things) with my then 3 year old son. I laughed so hard when she sheepishly admitted that she would pretty much do ANYTHING for her grandson.

So who knows.... wait til the grankids come and see how you feel!

We share a lot, although not when someone is sick. It wouldn't make sense to not touch someone's used Kleenex's, and then drink from the same straw. Eew! Usually with food, we ask if the others want to try, and we'll cut a piece off for them to take with their own fork/spoon.
