need information, please help!

Michellemom
My family just moved here in Maryland ten days ago. I'm going to enrol my daughter in Pre-K in Padonia internaional school this fall, and she is also excited about going to this school. However, since the Pre-K program is half-day, and I will be starting my graduate study in JHU, my schedule won't meet my daughter's. Nor would my husband's. So I wonder that does anybody here know whether there is any good daycare or preschool can offer afternoon program and also can pick up children from elementary school?
Thank you very much.

"Children's needs come first". This is what I've been thinking of these days. If I can't find a way to arrange my daughter's studying in elementary school, I will put off mine. Thanks.

I'd check with the pre-K to find out if there is an extended day option. There might be students at JH that could also provide babysitting services - including pick up at the pre school. We utilized this option when my kids were small and it allowed them to spend time at home, get involved in outside activities (gymnastics, library, etc) and have friends over. It also helped us establish child care during the summers when school was not in session.

I'm not located in your area, but in my community, the YMCA provides bus transportation for school children to their facility for after-care programming. You might also try to check with the school your child will attend, and see if they can give you the names of any daycares or fellow parents in the school who would be willing to babysit your daughter.
