We are very possibly relocating to Charlotte,NC. We want to choose the best for our children!!!!

Anonymous
We are extremely nervous about moving from our school, home, neighborhood, friends, church...all that is known to us & going to what is unknown! Our son is presently in 4th grade, getting wonderful help in areas he struggles with & as of 1/08 also in the gifted program, & doing so well. He is a very sweet, sensitive boy & very sad about the thought of moving from his school, friends, home. Our daughter is in a junior kindergarten class & will start Kindergarten in fall 08. Our school has been great, principal, teachers, councelors,we are comfortable there & can't imagine finding the same elsewhere. Needless to say we have rooted here & we (the parents) want to do & find what is best for our family. Any helpful advice would be great! Thanks!!

Thanks for the encouragement. I have a friend that lives there with high school kids. and she said the same thing. I am not sure, if it would be too far with working in Charlotte. I may look into it. Thanks

I am looking to move to Charlotte and wanting the best public school for my 2nd grade son. We had always gone to private Christian School before this year. But I am a new single mom, and doing all that I can to give my son a great education.
I cried when he had to go to public school this year, but he has loved it. We love his school, teacher and friends. I am concerned as well about the move to Charlotte, but we will be closer to family.
If I find out more about the schools I will share, maybe you can do the same. Best of luck

I don't know about the Charlotte schools, but if you wanted to live about 10-15 miles outside of Charlotte,a small town called Fort Mill,
S.C., their schools are excellent and rated as best school district in the state. People are on waiting lists to have their children enrolled. You can probably get some info from the internet on these schools. I, personally, don't have anyone enrolled, but my daughter, who lives in a town called Baxter (located in Fort Mill) tells me that all the parents she knows are clamoring to get their children enrolled. Good Luck.
