Great Schools can help you a lot. Atlanta city has great elementary schools but not so great Middle or High. Marietta (East Cobb) if your best bet.

If you are interested in bilingual elementary school, my daughter is going to Imagine Wesley Charter School, which teaches the IB program and chinese.

Morningside Elementary, Mary Lin Elementary, Inamn middle school and Grady high school. Awesome Intown neighborhood which is called Virginia Highlands and Morningside. Love the schools and the neighborhood.

My brother's family moved to Conyers, GA (a suburb of Atlanta) many years ago. They love it there and will retire there as well. Not only are the school's there wonderful and welcome parent involvement, but the parks and recreation is kid oriented. We have visited quite often and are considering moving there ourselves. Good luck in your future home and move.

Thanks this is a helpful start. I have already been on great schools and found some helpful information. The only problem is narrowing it down. My husband and I work from home so we are not bound to any one area. So the deciding factor for me is does it have a great school district.

Here's a link to the Atlanta city page on GreatSchools.net:

www.greatschools.net/city/Atlanta/GA

From there, you can check out districts and schools in Atlanta and surrounding cities.

Go to research and compare page in this website, and find middle schools or elementary schools by typing the city your job is located in. If the city is very small, no middle school can be appeared. In that case, find elementary schools and click one of the best schools in the result. You can find the zipcode of the schools you chose. Now go back to research and compare page and do search by zipcode. You can choose the size of the area from the center of that zipcode.
If you want to know the ranking of the schools in the chosen area, go to www.enocks.com They will tell you academic, affluence ranks and ethnicity data.
If you want to know more about each school, go to www.psk12.com
Good luck!
