Tucson Hebrew Academy?

Child_Of_Ra
Of the recent reviews... There is only one review in 2008 and only a couple from mid 2007. Are there any parents here who are at THA who have experienced a positive change who can provide more feedback about this school? The reviews are mixed. However, according to Sylvan they've never had to tutor a student from this school, and I think that's wonderful. But I'd like to hear more from parents who have their children here if possible.
Thank you.

We looked at it as the destination school from the JCC. Very religious and the "flavor" of Judaics may not be for you. As a Jewish school it was unusually non-academic, but so are almost all schools in Tucson, which is why we ultimately chose the International School of Tucson for our kids.

I should clarify about what I'm specifically curious... parents from 2005 and early 2006 provided feedback on the GS parent system that wasn't really glowing about the school but a new review said there was a big turnaround. So I'd like to hear more input from parents (who have their children at THA) about that in particular - if they've experienced this turnaround, how it's been more positive (or negative) etc.

Most schools participate in some form of standardized testing. Sounds like this would be a private faith based school. My only experience has been with Christian Schools and the ABeka curriculum, but children in these schools usually score far above thier public school counter parts, and usually have very committed and caring teachers and administrators.

I would ask them for test score results, tour the facility, and perhaps schedule an interview with the administration if you are considering sending your children. You may ask if they have parent testimonial statements, and if you can speak to those parents.

Best Regards
