Unfortunately, GreatSchools is a nationwide community and you're unlikely to find a person here who knows all the schools in your new area. If I were you, start with the "Research and Compare" feature on the green menu bar near the top of this page, and see what schools you can find. You might also contact a real estate agency in the new community, and ask them about school statistics. I'm not positive, but there may even be a listing of "Blue Ribbon Schools" on the internet, if you "google" for it.

You may also want to check out the U.S. Department of Educations website, they have a listing of schools over the years that have been awarded the Blue Ribbon. I would also search the site to see if schools are repeat award winners or if it's the first time they have been awarded, can schools win a Blue Ribbon one year but not be so succsessful the next? Some programs may work for some kids but not all, you want to make sure they are consistant in their successes.

Hi, can I ask why you're looking for Blue Ribbon schools? What matters to you about a school? If it's high academic achievement, I think you can see that from the GreatSchools rating.

Thank you for your reply. I really appreciated. You gave me a very good idea about contacting a real state agency. As you said, nothing will be positive but believe me I am just trying my best for my kid's education. Thank you again and God bless you.

One great way to see the level of academic achievement in a school is to sort schools on GreatSchools by their academic achievement rating. For a ranking of Los Angeles Elementary Schools by GS achievement ratings, see:

www.greatschools.net/cgi-bin/cs_compare/ca/?level=e&area=t&city=Los+Angeles&sortby=stars_newrating&tab=over

Let me know if you need help using this!

One more thing - make sure to cut and paste the whole URL I gave you, don't just click on it. Otherwise it won't work.
