In My Own Words

I am a college student & former charter school student who is passionate about the Core Knowledge curriculum! I attended the CKS charter school my parents helped start (first in our district!) from 4th - 8th grade. I feel such a debt to that wonderful school (and the parents who started it!) that I volunteered 8+ hours / week during high school and continue to visit and help out whenever I am in town. I also volunteered in over 10 other elementary schools in my district, which solidified my feelings towards my former elementary school and CKS! I'm here to learn about the different options available to me in the future if a CKS school is not already established wherever I end up - be it starting a charter school or homeschooling with the CKS curriculum. Also, I'm here to spread the news about CKS and the amazing things kids are capable of when parents and teachers expect them to learn!
