In My Own Words

I'm a preschool parent. My top concerns are related to allowing children to learn in a self-paced way and limiting coercion. Overpraise, rewards and punishments are a big concern to me. I don't know what challenges lay ahead, but I hope to meet them with consciousness, compassion and peace. I hope to see more parents starting an education revolution in their own homes. The best gift we can give to our kids is our own personal transformations to conscious living and authentic, non-coercive relationships. My favorite authors are Pam Leo, Byron Katie, Naomi Aldort, Lawrence Cohen, and two other books that also top my list are: Siblings Without Rivalry and Einstein Never Used Flashcards. Magazines I read are Mothering, WonderTime, Kindred, and Pathways to Family Wellness.

Parents I'd Like to Meet

I'm interested in meeting parents who know about schools and unschooling in my local area, are open minded, and best of all consider their own emotional and spiritual maturity as the most important component of raising their children.
