Hello All!
I am a first grade teacher who is currently married with no children. I believe that all children are learners, and should be presented with countless opportunities to accelerate their learning development. I have been teaching for 13 years. I started as a Paraprofessional and worked my way up to a classroom teacher. I have taught grades K, 1,3,5,6, and 7. Presently this is my 3rd year teaching 1st grade. I have finally found my orb and area of interest. I find that parents are extremely supportive of their child's academic development in the lower grades at my school. However, I noticed that as children progress towards upper grades parent involvement decreases. As an educator, I desire to play an immense role in actively encouraging parental involvement throughout the life of their child’s educational years. My mother supported my academic progress and all the challenges I was faced with throughout college and beyond this to me is most motivating and important.
Parents I'd Like to Meet
I am interested into meeting you all!
I am vigorously supportive of parents who are actively and creatively involved in their child’s education, and have a relationship with their child’s teacher, and school staff. I like to meet people who visit their child's classroom often just to help with classroom activities, such as center time, helping to cut paper, or assisting the teacher with a read aloud story. I'd like to meet parents who help to balance their child’s educational lives at school and at home. Parents that are searching for a way to stay involved in their child’s educational development, and working towards obtaining goals in their life and for their family. I hope to meet parent that are not afraid to rise above the rest when it comes to their children.
