In My Own Words

My name is Jamie I have 1 son and 2 step-sons, a wonderful husband, we have a dog named Daisy, a cat named Snickers, and a hamster named Brownie. I love animals as you can tell. I do have quite a a few pet peeves. ( I'll name a couple) 1. I don't like procrastination or being late (one of my husband's worst habits) 2. I don't like the front door or curtains in the living room open where everyone can see inside the house. 3. lip smacking, loud chewing or teeh grinding really bugs me. ( another one of my husbands bad habits) 4. Nail filing to me is like scratching nails on a chalk board to some people, it creeps me out, don't know why. 5. Clutter- one of the most top pet peeves I've always had. ( again another bad habit for my husband "The Pack Rat") Well those are the top 5 pet peeves so far that I can remember. I am also Closterphobic. My good qualities are I have several hobbies, I'll just name a few. 1. Scrapebooking, 2. Working on my Ancestry/Family Tree, 3. Baking, 4. Arts and Crafts, 5.playing sports, 6. dancing. Those are just a few of my hobbies. My favorite parenting memories are teaching my son how to walk, talk, pottty train, singing and writing ABC's , counting ,teaching him all the things he needed to know from a list the school sent to get him ready for kindergarten, how to do chores, and alot of other stuff he should learn. I also loved teaching him sports and diffrent types of arts and crafts. (There are so many memories but to many to name.)A typical day in my hetic life is cleaning up after evryone constantly and trying to get rid alot of the clutter around the house. things that get me really excited is when my son brings home good grades and good report cards. And to hear he's doing great in school and behaves well in school.Because he does get distracted very easily and will focus on what's going on around him instead of focusing on doing his school work. That gets me really excited and makes me very proud of him. I also get excited when he doesn't understand something he comes to me because he says I have a better and easier way of explaining how to do it so that he could understand it. That really feels great as a mom to know that he knows he can always come to me for help if he needs it. :0) Well that's some of a little about myself. I hope to be able to meet other parents on here soon! Bye! :0)

Parents I'd Like to Meet

Stay at home moms, School funraising experts, Parents against school uniforms and FCATS and their opinions on those issues. ( I'm against FCATS) Parents wondering where their money for "school activities" is going and wanting to know where exactly is that money going or towards what it's going to. Example: I've been told each year some of the things the money was going towards such as I was told that some would go towards fieldtrips but when they took a fieldtrip and the slips were sent home to get signed by parents it also asks for a fee for the trip. Another said towards supplies for the class when they ran out ,but was sent home a letter stating what the child should bring in whatever it was they ran out of in the classroom in the middle of the year. Some said towards class projects but never once saw my son bring home anything they have done on projects all year long and never heard about it. ETC.... Would also like to meet parents being charged for lunch money due when your child mostly takes a lunchbox and didn't owe anything. Also would like to hear from parents who may have come across other positive and/or negative issues. If we could all come together and help one another we can make a diffrence. Whether to agree or disagree either way we could somehow compromise and try to work something out and improve what we all agree needs improving or needs changes. Whether it's good or bad, we can work as a team. Especially when it comes to our children and their best interests. And the best interests of our schools. :0)
