In My Own Words

I am a single parent of several grown children and one elementary/middleschool age child at home. I have many years experience with the public schools systems as a student/parent and teacher and am fed up with the increasing prevalence of underqualified, unmotivated, and uninspired individuals allowed to remain in teaching positions. Stop whining about having too many students and not enough money already...if you are miserable then find another line of work and stop taking it out on our kids! Administrators please stop turning a blind eye to teachers who physically and verbally abuse children on a daily basis. PARENTS you have rights...exercise them. DEFEND your kids' right to a quality education and a safe atmosphere in which to learn. DEMAND clean restrooms, healthy food, qualified staff! YOUR tax dollars are paying for it. WHERE IS all the fund raiser cash actually going? FIELD TRIPS??? Maybe those should be cut before ARTS and Physical Education classes, eh??? Do teachers really NEED decorations for the classroom or could money be better spent? DO we really approve of teachers coercing youngsters to beg for money and hawk expensive junk to strangers...KIDS don't need that stress. And ZERO TOLERANCE? More like ZERO COMMON SENSE! LAZINESS, WASTE, ENTITLEMENT...

Parents I'd Like to Meet

I'd like to join with like minded people...who care enough to demand accountability from our PUBLIC institutions and who are willing to take the responsibility to do for our kids what the SYSTEM refuses to do. Our children are our future...this country's MOST precious resource. MY child is my TOP priority. I won't settle for less than the best where she is concerned which is why I home-school and encourage parents to check it out as an alternative to a failing public school system and often unaffordable or unavailable private education.
