Hello, I am the mom of 3 great kids. My 2 older have already graduated High School. Yes, I did have one son with a learning disability, long rough road, yet he is excelling in college. We are from New Jersey, looking to re-locate to Louisville area of Kentucky. My husband is recently retired, I am much younger, love to work, I am a hairstylist, love to get involved with my children, I have one 14 year old daughter about to begin her glory High School Years, my husband so much wanting to retire to Kentucky, I am scared. Yes, I do not know about this area, the school system, want and expect the best education possible for my daughter. New Jersey doesn't have the greatest schools, some are, some unfortunatly are not. Unfortunately, where we live, the schools do not rate as high as others'. Moving to Kentucky, I will have the means to send my daughter to private school, if necessary, and I am always interested in anything anybody has to offer, regarding mother's with teenage girls, high school, any questions pertaining to teenage boys, as I already have gone through High School with 2 boys that were GREAT students. My daughter is not excelling in school, she is not doing as well, she needs to be in a better school system, where the teachers' actually care about the children, as where we live now, that is not the case.
I was always a Lunch aide, always PTA parent, always involved and touch base with all my children's teachers. Unfortunately, the school my daughter currently attends, scores very low on this website, and on my list also. The high school, is a disaster in the town we live in. It was my high school, 25 years ago, the school was a disgrace, the students are left to do whatever they please, while the teacher reads the news paper, gives out answers to test questions and so on. I lived through it, my son's both attended this same high school, and I REFUSE to have my daughter attend this so called school. Again, I am moving, re-locating to a brand new area, I love people, I love to talk will be a hairstylist till the day I die, also love to read spend time with my daughter, shop, all the things us women so much love to do! That is me in a nutshell. Yes, I live in New Jersey, we are not ignorant, as some areas of the US believe we are. NY/NJ people are nice, get to know us. We live in an extremely crowded area of the US, and there are many bad eggs. There are also some GREAT people, very sincere, open, friendly, as I moved to Delaware 4 years ago, we were NOT accepted in that state, being from New Jersey, my children were made fun of, myself, I couldn't even get a job, having a NY accent. The FIRST and only question one would ask me in job interview would be: Are you from NY? My answer, NJ, they would reply, "SAME THING." Going on to tell me, they will call me. It was a horrible experience for my family and I. I have NEVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE, HAVE MET SUCH AWFUL PREDJUDICED PEOPLE!!!!! People from Delaware, WAKE UP!!!!!! I moved back to New Jersey, are y'all happy? LOL!!!!!! By the way, moving back to New Jersey, I did get a fantastic career in hairstyling. Never to even be considered for a position in Delaware. The schools there were worse than NJ.
Love to hear from all!
Parents I'd Like to Meet
I would love to meet parents of High School age daughters. My daughter will be starting High School this September, also mothers of girls or boys from Kentucky. As we are re-locating there. Any people out there from KY., especially the Louisville area, St. Matthews? I need to find a great school for my daughter in Kentucky. Also college information. My sons are in community college. I am not leaving them here in NJ, no dorm. After they finish community college, it will be their choice what college to attend, both wanting to go to Rutgers, right here in NJ. LOL!!!!! We will see.... They are not so open about re-locating to Kentucky, due to an awful experience in Delaware. I am hoping and believe Kentucky is a great place, so far, the people I have met on-line are fantastic! Any information on Kentucky would be so appreciated! Have a great day!!!!! Also any parents of perceptually impaired children, my oldest son was diagnosed as having this learning disability, now he is wonderfully coping, living with his disability, also doing very well. :~)
