Hi there. I'm a single mom of 8 year-old twin girls. They are my night and my day as that’s just how different they are. I have my girly B-girl: she likes wearing skirts and ‘cool’ hats. She’s the B that makes the word Beautiful and you could never tell her anything different, at least not without being corrected. She likes HSM and pop, hip-hop. She wants to be a rock star and can’t wait until she’s a ‘high schooler’. She’s always coming up with her own hair ‘styles’ which I must admit her friends all seem to copy. Then I have my A-girl, she likes wearing boys’ clothes, playing with boys’ toys. She listens to hip-hop, hard rock and classic rock. She never has a mean thing to say about anyone and would defend you if someone did say something. She has a smile that lights up a room. She’s 8, and she’s happy being 8. I work full time and they are currently in summer day camp. We spend our mornings running around trying to get ourselves together and out the door by 7:15am. Our evenings together start at 6:00pm and are full of camp stories, work stories, dinner (more stories) and then off to bed (with one last story) to do it all over again. We spend our weekends by the pool or at the park riding bikes or just hanging with friends. They get on my nerves… oh can they get on my nerves and yet everything we do we do together. My girls are my best friends and my whole world!
