My children have always gone to Catholic schools and I've been disappointed all along. We live in Metairie, LA which is a suburb of New Orleans and the public schools are really not an option. Other than that, we have private schools that cost $10k and up per year to send your children to a good school...extremely frustrating! My family moved to Texas after Hurricane Katrina but have since returned due to my husband's employment. We had to start a new Catholic school this year and I just withdrew Kaylie and Carson a few days ago for they were being harrassed by the principal! I'll explain to anyone who wants to email offsite.
My little girl is in 3rd grade and is struggling in Math and English only! I beleive this to be because of the moves from the storm and not having the same curriculums; thus not being able to completely grasp a concept. My 1st grader is in enrichment. He repeated Kindergarten (his b/d is 9/27/00) in TX for he wasn't 6 when they began the school year. Therefore, he is flying through 1st grade with 'A's' in everything, but is bored!
I'm a frustrated Mom who is now homeschooling and need any advice I can get! My husband and I are also in the process of starting a new business together so I have to get especially my daughter on track with school so that she doesn't have problems down the road. I do feel I can teach her best at this time.
I have a degree in Accounting and a MBA with a Finance concentration! I'm a Finance consultant and I love what I do, but for know, I'm putting my career on hold for my children's best interest.
