In My Own Words

My name is Melanie I have been married to my husband Mark for ten years this June and we have three beautiful children... Destiny is my oldest she is seven and has a genetic disorder called Velo-cardio facial syndrome. She has had ten surgeries in her young life and we are at Childrens Hospital in Fresno at least 2-3 times a week if not more. She is fun and easy going but needs a lot of assistance in her life. My middle child Haley is six and she is a social butterfly. She likes hanging out with friends but looses her attention easily. We are at the process of retaining her in Kindergarten because she is having a hard time with reading, writing and sounds. Other than that she is completely a healthy little girl and is a pure joy. My son is my last child he is David and he is 2 years old. We call them the terrific twos and he is so funny but gets into everything. He has a constant smile on his face from sun up to sun down he has always had a perminate smile. I never knew that the love you have for your "BOY" would be that different than your "GIRLS" but it is a little different they are defiantely more active. Me and my husband are born again Christians and we love the Lord with all of our hearts. We met at a church revival and have been sold out to God from that point on together. I have homeschooled my daughter Destiny for two years but she is starting a special ed class this next year at a public school and all I can do is pray that it works for her and our favor. Haley and most likely David when he get to the Kindergaten year are going to Sherman Thomas Charter School and she loves it. The kindergarten teacher is a blessing and loves Haley so much and she is a born again Christian too and I know that she prayes for Haley on a daily basis. We as a family love camping, singing, going to the park and the zoo and most definately our ultimate fun place to go is Disneyland of course. We usually go to the beach once a year for a week at a time and rest and make sandcastles too. We love being parents and find that it is the biggest joy you can find. I am a stay at home mom I use to be an LVN but stopped working when Destiny was found to have some severe health problems. I do not regret making that decision 8 years ago but I sometimes wish that all could be "normal" I guess really what is normal right HA HA!!

Parents I'd Like to Meet

I would like to meet parents that have students/children with special needs like mine (SPEECH/LANGUAGE), learning disabilities. I would like to meet parents with active children maybe those children that are not ADHD but those that are harder to keep there focus because they like pictures or what not. I would like to meet parents/moms that are stay at homes that have ideas that we could bounce around to help our children grasp the most that we could do for them ect. I
