In My Own Words

I''ve been involved in education and education issues for many years. My daughters are now 24 and 28 but when they were younger, I was involved every step of the way, from volunteering in the classroom to helping with the PTA, the local schools foundation and then I served 8 years on my local school board in Burlingame, CA. Now I am senior editor at GreatSchools and I write a lot of the content for our Web site and our email newsletters. I am passionate about trying to find ways to improve public education and making it a positive experience for all students.

Parents I'd Like to Meet

I'd like to meet other parents passionate about the promises and challenges of public education, and parents interested in public education policy and burning issues, like merit pay for teachers and revamping the way schools are funded. As a busy mom, Id like to connect with other parents to learn tips about balancing work and family life.
