A couple of Parents involved with Knox county schools got together and built a website for parents with children who have or is believed to have an educational disability. Both of of Tracy and I, had children with issue go into Kindergarden. What we found was a major overall and we need your help. So come visit us and lets get the system back on track. Working with the schools and building better communication between the parents and the school is the key to success! Visit us at http://www.KEDS4U.COM My name is Jana Crowder and for 5 years I've been helping American Contractors in Iraq seek disability after returning home injured. I've worked with the Iraq Oversight Comm. to get a Congressional hearing for the lack of medical and/ or disability they were getting. Being a whisle blower for their Halliburtons Off shore Shell company, as well as having worked with Dan Rathers in a 1 hour documentary on P.T.S.D. (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder" Never in my wildest dreams while fighting for American Disability Rights did I even think I would be sitting here today, fighting for my own sons disabilities righst? I get that contractors going into Iraq was different, it was the first time in history that American labor's were used in a WARZONE. So Yes, laws that were written in 1942 need to be updated. But for parents to have to fight for their child educational rights in 2008/2009 when we have IDEA,IDEIA,FAPE, Child Find Mandate, No Child Left Behind, it's just plain crazy. Living in Tennessee I'm shock to find that NO ONE Pays School taxes, well county,city and property, but the school taxes are taken out of that and it's so little, no wonder Tennessee is in the bottom of the educational pit! Being from Houston, and having 9 schools Hit the "Top 10" in the nation, kinda tell you that what they are doing works if done right and that is "A seperate School tax" Most people say, we can't afford it, but America wake up, we got to get our Priorities right, Children First in Education! We can, but we may have do away with a cell phone or two, or new video game. Why depend on Government Welfare, beat the system!
