In My Own Words

Hi my name is Missie; I am 27 yrs old. I have been happly married for 6 yrs. I have 2 beautiful children; My daughter who is 6 and my son how is 3. I am a stay at home Mommy and I go to College full time for an Associtates degree in Health Care Mangament. My husband is in the Navy and fly's MH53 Helicopter. I am very new to this "gifted" childrens program. About my daughter: My husband and I have know our little girl was gifted since she was 6 months old. she was crawling, holding a bottle all at 6 months; and able to walk by 11 months old. at 13 months old she was speaking full senteces, able to tell you all her colors. buy 18 and able to say her ABC'S and count to 20. buy 2 yrs of age she was putting puzzles together that a 4 or 5 yr old go do! She went to preshcool last yr and aced all of her tests and was very board with the ciriculum. She is know just stating to finish up grade K but it is hard for her becasue it is just simply to easy! I am interested in learning how to get her into a higher grade and into "gifted" programs to better suit her intellegence needs; and to be with other childern that are at her IQ level! My daughter has been missdignosed with ADHD and becasue she has a high IQ she is very chatty in class, is very dreamy pre say and does seem to have a hard time concentrating on things. But; spite all of this she has scored above average on all of her tests. I have read that highly intellegent childern are often missdignosed or do have ADhD.

Parents I'd Like to Meet

Parents that have children like my little girl; who are at an higher IQ level than there age presents. for example; my daughter she is 6 and her mind is at a 8 yr old level:) Anyone who has advice or comments to help me in this journey would greatly be appericated! and I am here to chat and make firends:)
