In My Own Words

I'm a full time permanent night shift RN on a coronary intensive care unit. My husband owns his own small business building and renting log cabins in the Shenandoah mountains (vacation rentals). His business is in a neighboring state (Virginia - we live in Maryland). The plummet of the economy has definitly hurt his business. I have two wonderful children - my son is 7 in first grade and my daughter is 4 in PreK. I have wonderful parents who live close by and provide child care several days a week. My son is having difficulty in school with anxiety, attention, reading, and writing. We are working with a very dedicated, active IEP team. We are beginning to work him up for possible Attention Deficit Disorder - they say he is a classic case. I am anxious about this.
