In My Own Words

I am a mother of two children 18 months apart. My daughter will be starting Kindergarten in the Fall of 2009 and I am more nervous than ever about that. Between running the kids to preschool, me to work, errands and spending family time, I love to scrapbook, take pictures, and chat with friends. I am French, so teaching my children our mother tounge and traditions is very important to me. I believe a child should be taught to accept other children from all cultures and backgrounds, discrimination is only a key to failure. After witnessing a fight taking place between a young child and a group of student while picking up a friends child from 1st grade, I have become even more concerned about bullying in school and would like to see more done about it.

Parents I'd Like to Meet

I would like to meet parents who balance work and home life. Mothers who have husbands in prison and are raising the family out here, while maintaining contact with them. Parents concerned with bullying issues, peer mediation and enrichment activities. Parents that have gone through the hard process of enrolling in Kindergarten for the first time and ways to get through this process which seems so scary to me.
