In My Own Words

My career was working for public schools in programs for children with disabilities. I was a special education director for 27 years until I retired. For the last two years I have worked part-time for the TX Parent Training & Information Center that each state has. The Centers assist parents of children with disabilites in obtaining information and training to better advocate for their child. My experience gives me knowledge of regulations & procedures and the positives & negatives that schools can exhibit. My son has graduated from college, but had problems with public schools because classes were not challenging to him.
