I am a full time attorney and it is necessary for me to work. Before I opened my own practice I had plenty of time to volunteer t schoool, but my time is more demanding, I want to meet other sowrking moms (both single and married) I need to learn to balance work and school so that I am an active Parent in my kids schools this year A hectic day for me is not knowing who will pick the kids up, with each child haveing so many different fdter school activities, from the reading cenrer, to speech therapy, soccer, gymnastics, cheer. I have an arrangement with an after school day care that ,that my kids loved (and will again if have to) the problem is that I wanted my kids to have a better summer, theri dsd's girlfriend lives on my same street and our kids have been best freinds for years, so I allowed he rto pick my kids up from school. At first my parents criticized me, then they offered to help, but would get frantic if I am not home by 5:30 , as an attorney I DO NOT HAVE AN 8-5 JOB AND I AM AT THE MERCY OF THE COURT, JUDGE OR JURY, it is so diddicult for my sisters who love close bgy, my ex husbands significant otehr, myt husbands ex all of whom do not now nor have they ever worked to understand that I cannot alwsy follow a perfect set schedule. i do my best, but some days the kids just do not know who will be pickinf them up, me? dad? will they be going home to play on the street, with the babysitter, grandparents. We have a problem with grandparents because they complain to the children that their parenrts work too much etc. my little boy needs more stability, consistency he needs to know which freinds mom will drive to soccer on which day, my daughter can just toll with the punches, she adapst to change well, he does not
