I have a daughter in middle school. With budget cuts a constant reality the quality of education seems to be going down hill. Is relocation to the Central Atlantic states [ such as the Carolinas, Virginia or even Tennessee] a change for the better or is it the same everywhere? I currently live in S. Florida.
Another issue that is out of hand here is the cell phone- text messaging phenom....i'ts like these things are attached as an appendage. I realize i helped create this mess by allowing my daughter to have one with too few guidelines but what now???? I want her to cut back on the usage however the peer pressure is terrible. These kids come to our house to hang out a lot and they all have the same toys and phone habits. Sometimes it is like talking to a wall they are so preoccupied. My daughter gets very good grades so it is hard to justify taking things away from her. She perceives it as punishment.
There must be others going through similar problems and I would love to hear from them.
