Parents I'd Like to Meet

I would like to connect with parents who can provide advice on finding a high quality preschool/pre-K program for our 4 & 1/2 year old son. We are moving to DC this summer (July 2009) and need to find a place for him to go to school (as well as a place to live and a job for me). He has been in a Japanese immersion program from age 9 months. Are there any programs like this in the District? Which public schools are strong? Which private schools are worth the cost?
