In My Own Words

Hi! I am a mom of 2 daughters, ages 22 and almost 4 years. I am interested in single parent issues as it was an issue for me with my oldest daughter. I want to be picky this time. I also have time to to be more involved with my youngest daughter's education and school. I am interested in preschool and kindergarten for my youngest. I am interested in learning more about magnet and charter schools. I am also considering homeschooling. There are more choices now, so I need to learn more about everything. A big concern of mine, are unruly students taking away from the students who are interested in learning. I think the high schools need to do more as far as preparing students for real life. College needs to be more affordable for the kids coming out of high school that do not have access to a college fund or qualify for a grant.

Parents I'd Like to Meet

I would like to meet parents such as myself, who have older and younger kids and find themselves in a better place financially and have the experience of bad choices or non-choices to [hopefully] make a better difference this time. I have the opportunity to be a stay-at-home-mom this time and I love it [sometimes]. I hope to still stay at home after my youngest goes to school to focus on starting a home-based business in design. My husband wants to also start his own business, so we will see who gets priority.
