In My Own Words

Well...I am the busy mom of three gifted kids, 2 sons (10 and 7) and a daughter (3). I am very involved in education issues as a board member on our school's PTA as well as a being a board member on the district's PTA. I am a literacy advocate-having taught college composition courses I know how important early reading and writing is-and organize the school's literary activities when a staff member is not available. I am currently working with our board to raise funding for a playground. I also assist with the academic team and both of my sons are in Cub Scouts. I love to read and spend many happy moments supporting local bookstores and libraries. My biggest pet peeve? Children who are in a car and NOT sitting in a car or booster seat. That really makes me nuts-it is so dangerous! I wish that more parents paid attention to that issue.
