I have a child who has special needs. He has Mild Cerbral Palsy and is bullied on a very regular basis. It had even gotten to the point that we had to call the Sheriff's office as my son kept getting kicked or hit almost daily and the neither the teacher nor the principal was doing anything about it. At Shane's school, it's my understanding that if you get in trouble and get sent to the Principal's office, the kids leave with candy. I understand the schools have their hands tied to an extent, but I WILL NOT tolerate the bullying of my child or anyone else's.
I know this is not a great first impression i'm giving, but it is something i'm passionate about. This has just gone too far. We, as parents, want the very best for our children....but in this case, i'll just take that my child will be safe. I don't feel i'm asking too much.
I feel that the bullying at my child's school is rampant so, unfortunately, i'm transferring him to a different school in hopes that he will enjoy going to school as he once did.
He is a very sweet boy...that's why it breaks my heart for him. All he wants to do is have friends and enojoy school.
