In My Own Words

I am a grandmother of 7 grown children, married for 12 yrs. My husband and I have been together for 20 yrs. One of my pet peeves is children that don't listen to their parents and parents that don't discipline their children. I am from the old school and discipline is one thing that was done. I am guilty of not preparing my boys as well as I did my girls. My parenting skills have changed a lot from 60 yrs ago. A typical hectic day for me is when all of my children and my husband wants something from me. Since I am still working a typical day is; Up at 4 am, try to be out the door by 5:30. I have several ways of transportation to get to work, since gas and public transporation is expensive, I trade off sometimes I take the train, sometimes the bus. But I must drive to both. I am usually home by 6p.m..Bible study on Wed. Choir rehearsal on Thurs on those nights I am not home until 9:30 or 10:00. I am helping my daughter with her son. His father is not in the picture, so he clings to his Papa. There are so many issues that get me excited but the up coming election has that time right now. I am currently attending school for Medical Billing & Coding.

Parents I'd Like to Meet

I would definitely like to meet moms who are balancing home/work. What do they do for entertainment? Do you have any entertainment. I really would like to meet grandparents who are helping their children raise their grandchildren. Single parents who are trying to return to school to better their job prospects. I also would like to meet anyone who is interested in opening up a homeless shelter for women and children. The women can be pregnant. This is one of my dreams.
