Some of my favorite parenting memories include the day that my children came home with stars on their faces and school work and how they were so elated. Another one of my parenting memories is having to get one of my daughters to understand that teachers get frustrated some times; she came home from head start and began to cry and said that Ms Schrodder turned mean today...I laughed so I almost cried it was purely the way she expressed this feeling of hers that was funny to me. Not dismissing her shock and disappiontment that her teacher had to be a little assertive with the class I began to comfort her with the idea that sometimes teachers are like mommy and when mommy says its bedtime and you and your sister insist on not going to bed I have to get a little tough on you guys and say if you dont go to bed no Ice cream tomorrow she for some reason understood.
And the next day in class she told her teacher you have to tell the class that if they are not behaving we are not going to have Ice cream any more. She was just 3 years old.
