I have three wonderful children. Right now, one of them is driving me a bit insane with his whistling while he's doing his homework.... but other than that, they typically are really good kids with big hearts. Yes, they are not perfect, but we all have our faults. For example, I might have teachers complain about my boys not seeming to pay attention in class, but then when I ask them what they learned in school that day, they can quote facts that they learned and get As on their tests. So, it's frustrating but it could be worse I guess. I'm also a teacher. Currently, I teach fifth grade, but that might change next year because my position was eliminated for a year. One thing I need to do is get more involved in the politics of education I guess. I'm seeing some things that just seem to be unfair right now.
Parents I'd Like to Meet
I would like to chat/ meet with parents that are good at fund-raising. Especially if they know how to fund-raise for a school that doesn't have a lot of high-income parents. I'd also be interested in different ideas for fund-raising. It seems like it's always chocolates, pizzas, and knick-knacks that get tossed out a week after buying! I also have a hard time balancing everything that's on my plate. My life seems to be kids--at school and at home. I'm not complaining, but it seems like there's never enough time in the day!
