I am a parent who is very much involved in my children's education. I am quite supportive when it comes to their academics, as well as, discipline issues that evolve in the school as a whole. My children are not perfect, but they understand their parents expectations when it comes to their education. Although, their father and I aren't together we still see eye to eye when it comes to our children. This means that we try to keep our children well balance in their views, standards, and morals.
We are pretty flexible in our schedule when it comes to addressing any situation that our children might contemplate. They are well trained when it comes toward the surrounding circumstances that they might encounter within their learning environment. They also understand the number one rule is to respect their instructors, and if anyone of them needs to be addressed they know to follow up with their parents. Take my word on it, I don't fall short when it comes to confrontation. There is a way to approach a situation and wisdom is the best tool to use when you have an expertise in that particular area.
I always tend to pull from my resources!
Parents I'd Like to Meet
I am about to purchase a home in the New Castle area, and I have heard a lot of negative feedback on George Read Middle School and William Penn High School. I am well aware that you cannot take everyone's advice. After looking at many of the statistics, it seems that there is not much teacher involvement within the Colonial School District.
I am a parent that stays on top of things, far as, school work, homework, etc. I keep an open line of communication between the teacher and myself, so we have that understanding in the very beginning. But, I do have a problem with schools that do not discipline kids with behavioral issues. When their actions are not reprimanded, the nature of the beast tends to cause a domino effect throughout that entire environment. Now, the children that are condusive to learning have become persuasive to believe that there are no consequence toward bad decisions. I've seen it over and over again. The problem gets bigger and bigger until it is totally out of control.
In Chichester School District, it is wonderful. The parents are very much involved in their children's education, so the experience is successful. Why don't you hear this in Colonial School District? I have yet to hear something positive and that really concerns me. It is not just because I am moving in that area, but as Union President I find a need to stand up for that community.
