I am a founding moderator at http://www.schoolpsychologistfiles.com/forum/index.php ......................... I am the mother of a 17 year old son, bipolar, ADHD, Dyslexia, CAPD and Superior IQ. We have struggled through the years with the education process and are finally on the right track with online high school and full time employment for school credits as well (although currently unemployed). My goal is to help other students and parents never have to go through the trials and pains that my son had to go through or the frustrations that we all had to endure because the school personnel refused to test....refused to accept...refused to understand...that a student with a superior IQ can also struggle with LD...let alone have them try to understand the multiple swings of juvenile onset bipolar... I want to educate the educators so that they DO understand and WILL accept each student for whom he or she is and teach them and work with them accordingly... And my ultimate goal is to watch my son graduate and go on to whatever successes he finds in life...I want him to be HAPPY with who he is and what he is capable of doing... If not for all of the people at SchwabLearning...we would have NEVER made it as far as we have...I hope that we will be able to make a difference in someone's life....
