In My Own Words

I really believe that our education system is failing many of our best and brightest children because increasingly we have moved toward a system that punishes those who make mistakes. The children are those who are creative. Because to be truly creative one must not be afraid to make mistakes. Me and my dh have 3 kids. All are highly creative and very bright. And yet all have suffered immense amounts of pain and feelings of inadequacy in the current educational system.

Parents I'd Like to Meet

I am interested in other parents of kids who just don't fit. I welcome any parent who wants to pick my brains on what it has taken to try to pull our neuro-atypical gifted son through. I am also a trained educational advocate. And I welcome any parent who is has actually succeeded in getting a challenging child with a complex set of disabilities through and launched into adulthood.
