In My Own Words

We as parents are our children's voice, therefore we must do whatever it takes to speak up and out for them whether they are special needs children, gifted children or anything in between. I have learned overtime that just because a Doctor says oh they will grow out of it or they give a diagnosis that it may not be fact. A diagnosis is nothing more than an educated guess, I have learned to get linked with various supports systems, seek out second and sometimes third opions. Just because a Doctor says it does not mean it is Gospel. So as a parent I second guess and do research because I know my child better than any doctor does.

Parents I'd Like to Meet

Special Needs Children's Parents, as my 4 soon to be 5 year old has various developmental delays, behavioral issues, ADHD, Aperger's Syndrome, Sensory Integration Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and more. Gifted Children's Parents, as my 7 soon to be 8 year old is gifted and excellerated in the charter school that he attends.
