In My Own Words

I remember parenting my niece and nephew ever since they were 5. Looking up at their brown eyes, changing their diapers,(not trying to remember the smells though), feeding them, waiting for them to say their first word, and then it becomes an essay of gimmes at the front. LOL. Wouldn't take it back for nothing. The day when I was in the backyard with my niece and nephew, teaching them to play baseball, my brother throwing bad pitch to my then two year old nephew. Man, he chased my brother with a plastic bat around the yard and we were all laughing. I knew then, even when he was 2, he knew was competitive. We are blessed to have 3 more nephews. My used to be 2 year old is now 12. A typical day in a life for me is basically 9 to 5ing it. After work, attend to my studies of art, research, and more studies. I hardly have time for food, so I eat out mostly. Sometimes, I'm so busy I forget to eat.(Well, I snack on a Snickers. haha). Then I usually go to sleep around 12:00am, AFTER I call up on my niece and nephews and make sure they have what they need. Well, I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO, went to Brittany Woods Middle, Ronald Mc Nair(now known as School Board, Daniel Boone(Barbara C.), and U. City High, and so have my brothers and sisters. I am the PROUD uncle of a niece and nephew, who currently goes to the same school. However, unfortunately, I am not proud to say that my niece and nephew attend U. City Schools. Over the past decades, the schools have gotten ridiculously careless in disciplining their students. The parents are not involved in what activities they do due to the fact that they use "to much work" as an excuse. I mean, okay...I understand that we as parents and guardians have to provide for our children, but we also have to make time for our children. It's difficult for a single mother to do, but couples have no excuse...NONE! IF YOU CAN'T FIND TIME TO TAKE OF YOUR CHILD, THEN YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO CONCEIVE ONE!!! That's one of my biggest pet peeves. The other one is when these so-called teachers pretend to be a teacher. I understand that teachers are underpaid, but aren't we all? Policeman and teachers are paid by our tax money, so why shouldn't they...you know teach? I wish I pretended to be something I'm not at work...but then again, I wouldn't get that far. I'm not talking about all, but some teachers. YOU WILL BE EXPOSED FOR THE FRAUDS YOU ARE!! Let's face it, we were all some snot-nosed punks. None of us are perfect. HOWEVER, it is up to us, as a moral obligation to steer these children in the right direction. If we don't MTV will. The school systems and laws and juvenile system really gets my goat. Today in a world filled with crime and hatred at an all time high, we need not spare the rod. The law gives the children too much power to take advantage of. Because of this you develop out-of-control dillenquents. Why is it that when a child goes throuugh harrassment, the administration shakes it off and call it "kids will be kids". But when something physical happens, or worse, the ad. wants to step in and take action like they cared. WHY!!!??? That's it for now.

Parents I'd Like to Meet

Again, I am no parent, but an uncle that shares a majority of parenting. I'm not looking forward to meeting any know-it-alls, but people who can relate in this matter of urgency with disciplinary action. Secondly, I would love to meet the parents of out-of-control children, parents of bullied children and what action did they take when the administration failed them. I would like to meet with single mothers or fathers, or couples who have raised their children and have succeeded. Finally, I would like to meet with someone of a media reputation to further and strengthen the war on bullying, cyber, school, verbal, written, physical, etc..,
