In My Own Words

In a Nutshell: Three boys, life is a MADHOUSE! We are getting ready to Move to Minot, North Dakota, and I am in school, trying to finish my Veterinary technicians degree. My oldest son, Zayne started school at age 4, 11 months younger than the other kids in his class. At the time I thought it was the right thing to do. Intellectually he was ready. But now, he has just finished 5th grade, and while his grades are exemplary, and he gets along well with the others in his class, AND his test scores are off the charts, I dont believe he is ready for 6th grade, either emotioanlly or socially. His maturity level just isnt the same as other kids in his class. So his dad and I are struggling with making the difficult decision of whether or not to hold him back. Anyway, our middle son, Noah, has recently, finally, been diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome. He has ADHD, ODD, and NOS Anxiety Disorder. We still struggle with all of this. Learning to deal and control his environment and when we cant control the environment, then controlling his reaction. And the schools, so far havnt been, shall we say, helpful. Then comes Kaden, our youngest. Kaden just turned 7. He was born 9 weeks premature and weighed about 3 pounds. We got to bring him home when he was 4 weeks old. He is feisty and quick tempered. Quick to smile and laugh. He has a mohawk. He has been wearing his hair this way since he was 3 years old.

Parents I'd Like to Meet

Parents with special needs kids, parents with exceptional organizational skills. I want to meet other parents who are willing to encourage me and help me stay motivated regarding my kids challenges. I get so frustrated at my inability to help them, I lose hope, and I am looking for parents who have been there or who are there, so we can lean on each other and give encouragement.
