I'm a mom of a 7th grader and I still can't figure out just what "dating" means to these young teens. My daughter doesn't even talk or text boys outside of school yet. But many of the girls more so than the boys are aggressive in their pursuit of their crushes and most ask the boys out. Best as I can tell, they are "dating" if they hold hands and walk together in school and hang out in coed groups and text each other outside of school. Some couples are just starting to spend time at each others houses just as a couple. I would let my daughter do this kind of dating but the boys in her grade seem to just wait for the girls to ask them out or are still sleeping as far as being interested in girls to date.

I'd love to hear from some parents whose kids are dating already in middle school and let us in on just what dating means now adays.
