Omg! what do you do when you miss your exam?

My daughter just called me at work. She just wrote her math final at 8:30am this morning. She said she couldn't find her friend "N" after the test so she called her on her cell. Well it appears that "N" thought the test was at 12pm and had slept in. She started freaking out on the phone, but didn't know what to do as she was too afraid to contact her parents. The problem is she needed a minimum 40% on this test to pass the year and not flunk and hence off to summer school. The real problem is now she will have to go to summer school but her parents already have a 2 week Hawaiian vacation planned at the same time with tickets purchased. I feel bad in a way, but everyone else seemed to know what time to come. I told my daughter that she should tell her to contact her parents right away and maybe they might be able to figure out something, but shes too afraid to. I know when I when to high school there was no leniency when it came to missing finals but who knows now.

This is funny and sad. She needs summer school not a final at 8.30 in the morning. I feel her pain, sometimes, it is hard for me to leave my house at 7.01am.

Reminds me of the time I had a Social Studies exam. The question was What do the Inuit people work for?
The answer was The government
I put - Money
The teacher put a big X followed by a smiley face. lol

This is almost as funny as what this student told me this afternoon in my lab. He just took his graduate exams and he had barely 10 min to answer a question. He had to come up with two ingredients in a solution, and he didn;t have enough time to dilly, dally so he wrote down....peanut butter and jelly! :)

Wow, the only nightmare I still have from college, but for real.

Flat out, "N" has to contact her parents and the school ASAP. Today, or tomorrow. Finals do get moved for illness. Teen forgetfulness isn't high on the school's priority, but if she has an exemplary track record otherwise, with the support of her parents and her sincere apologies, she might get lucky--especially given that her parents have tickets to Hawaii.

Good luck. Someday, this will be funny (and repeated at her wedding...), but it will be years before it's funny.
