Now if I had planned it properly, I would have coincided our family vacation with the two weeks my daughter's day care is closed this summer.  So all we have planned is a quick trip over the Fourth of July weekend with some friends and their kids.

What do you have planned this summer?  What are your kids up to?

Boy, hockeymum, I'd be a little upset the teacher didn't contact you directly either, especially as the deadline neared. Sorry she didn't get to go, but just the fact she didn't understand means you're probably more upset she missed out than she would be.

I have to go through my kids backpacks every school day or I don't see any of it.. lol.. My son is so forgettful that when he was in Kinder, I had to staple (yes staple) his homework to the left over backpack strap every friday.. lol.. I was his teachers room parent and she thought that was a crack up, but he always got his homework in!!!

I must admit, for something that special, I'd have expected the teacher to tell you. And I feel your pain about the notes not even making it to the school bag. When I pick up my son, he's generally holding his backpack in one hand, and all the rest under the other arm hugged against his chest, struggling not to lose anything! Why do we bother getting them bags! lol

lilend,
That's the problem with her is that she is so nonchalant about everything. All these notices never even make it to the book bag just sit in her desk. I just wish the teacher had of told me quickly about it because she didn't understand the value and privilege she was chosen for.

hockeymum, that is frustrating. That's why I try to check my son's bag everyday, but it's easy to forget with toddler twins. At least, you can comfort yourself with the thought that if she had cared, she'd have told you the day she found out.
